YZF-R1 - State-of-the art race technology

Yamaha R1 represents a paradigm shift in technology, performance and controllability among litre class sport bikes. The R1 has been designed to be the “Ultimate Cornering Master 1000” of the open super sport class. Inspired by Yamaha’s M1 MotoGP race bike, this latest generation 998cc R1 features a crossplane crankshaft design with an uneven firing order to provide outstanding yet easy to control torque and an exceptionally linear throttle feel never experienced before. But there is far more to R1 than just a revolutionary engine.

Crossplane crankshaft technology proven in victory after victory on MotoGP® machines provides a high-tech uneven firing interval. Unlike typical inline-four engine design, where the two outer and two inner pistons move together in pairs with 180° intervals, the crossplane crankshaft has each connecting rod 90° with a unique firing order of 270° – 180° – 90° – 180°. This overcomes the inherent fluctuations in inertial torque during each engine revolution, and the accompanying peaky torque characteristics. Instead, combustion torque continues to build, giving the rider more linear throttle response with awesome power and traction out of the corners.

This R1 keeps all the technological superiorities developed for its predecessor: YCC-T™ (Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle) is MotoGP® inspired fly-by-wire technology used to deliver instant throttle response. YCC-I® is Yamaha Chip Controlled Intake which is a variable intake system that broadens the spread of power. The fuel injection system provides optimum air/fuel mixtures for maximum power and smooth throttle response.

The R1 features Yamaha D-MODE (or drive mode) with rider-selectable throttle control maps to program YCC-T performance characteristics for riding conditions.

Yamaha believes that developing motorcycles is both a technological and an artistic endeavor. It pursues a level of performance that transcends mere specifications. The goal is to produce technologically superior motorcycles that should have a deep and intangible emotional appeal. It is what defines the company and this is what we call the “Art of Engineering".

One question is, how dangerous riding a sport bike is second on the road?

"You will not feel a thing if it hit a wall in the speed of 320 km per hour." From there comes the third syllable. In addition, the meaning of the words were also imaged motorcycle to accelerate from 0-100 km per hour in just three seconds.

Hornsleth admitted personally fascinated by the relationship between Italian design and high technology machines in both the motorcycle sport. "This is a blend of beauty, speed, and death," said Hornsleth about his work. The graphics are created, he added, describing the interaction, the effort to find out at once challenged the logic of the existing design on the Ducati.

Ducati did not say how much the selling price of this bike. But, from the existing 10 units, some of which are sold through the online trading site eBay and was offered at a price of 70,000 euros or the equivalent of USD 856.7 million per unit. Indeed, if you think about using common sense, no sense, a motorcycle that just crossed her by coloring a higher price than the standard version.

What Makes Ducati Motorbikes So Desirable?

Some people ask what makes Ducati motorbikes so desirable. If you don't know anything about motorbikes than you're unaware that Ducati has been around since 1926. They're an Italian company with about 1,200 employees and they really know what they're making. Therefore they have had plenty of time to get their names out. They have become extremely popular every year since then. One reason this motorcycle manufacturer is so desirable is because it's all they make. They specialize in motorbikes and motorbikes only (besides accessories and merchandise). They're also not your average motorcycles, as these are high-performance. Riding one of these bikes gives a similar feeling children get on Christmas day. There are four key reasons these bikes are just so desirable. Well five, one being the Italian's passion, but we won’t really be getting into that here.

The four key reasons of desire are easy to point out.

1. Speed:

Simply by looking at a "Duc" many people would guess they're fast. There's no denying that there's thrill-takers out there. Many of these people want the fastest car or motorcycle on the planet. That's just about what you're going to get with a Ducati. The truth is unless you're stunt devil on a closed course, you will never reach the full speed of a newer Ducati on the street (hopefully). These bikes will smoke anything on four wheels out of the water. It's been said that the Ducati 1098 has a zero to sixty miles per hour time of under three seconds! Let's also make a key-point that they have air-cooled engines to cool them down.

2. Style / Design:

These bikes are extremely unique because they are designed and not "decorated". I believe they are the most stylish bikes you can buy. They bring the high-performance engine to life in the design of the bike as well. These bikes can last a life-time and more from the inside and out. Like Ducati says themselves, "Engineered by the stopwatch. Designed by the race track"

3. Proven Racing Success:

Ducati has a long history with racing, they like to win and have MANY titles to back them up. Let’s start with a title in 2007 at the MotoGP World Championship. How about thirteen coveted titles at the Superbike World Championship (SBK) ranging from 1990-2008. Four of those were won riding on a Ducati 916. That's not all ladies & gentlemen, eight titles at the British Superbike Championship, and two at the AMA Superbike Championship! These bikes obviously can race and the track results are there to prove it.

4. Enthusiasts groups:

A very smart thing Ducati has focused on since the 1990's is marketing. They have put together many things in connecting with branding efforts. This would include online communities and local enthusiast groups across the world which offer exclusive Ducati insurance. Here are some numbers based on groups: 400 Ducati clubs worldwide, 20,000 registered users of the Ducati Owners Club web site and 17,000 subscribers to the racing web site. People have their eyes on upcoming models and many purchase them on release day. If you haven't gotten the chance to see one in action let alone ride one, it's highly recommended!

Choosing the right bike for you can be difficult. Ducati bikes are not only fast and sporty, but also have dedicated enthusiast groups that offer discounted Ducati Insurance. Be sure to try out a Ducati bike before you make your decision.

FINE SETTIMANA POSITIVO PER SIMONCELLI A BARCELLONA

Dom, 05 Giugno 2011

Bajaj Pulsar 150 Review

Bajaj Pulsar 150 Review and Bajaj Pulsae 150 Price

The Bajaj Pulsar is the first bike in India which came in direct competition with the Hero Honda CBZ. Later Bajaj introduced Pulsar 150cc DTS-i with digital twin spark ignition and till today Pulsar is one of the most sought after bike in the 150cc segment. It has definitely won over other bikes, but let us justify its triumph.

The engineers at Bajaj realized the fact that if there is no beauty and only brawn, it is not going to sell in the Indian market. Claimed to be designed and developed in Japan, this bike does have a head turning looks. The most noticeable feature of this bike is the tank. Big tanks give a big bike feel, and when Pulsar was introduced, it had one of the biggest tanks in India.

The design of the headlamps has been viewed differently by people. Some really love it and some say it could have been designed better. The headlight comes with city lights also called tell tale lights which is a value addition to its looks. Bullet and Karizma were the only bikes with city lights before Pulsar was introduced.

The tail part of the bike… hmm, yeah, I could say it is nicely designed too. Here too there is a difference of opinion. The new razor sharp rear light, whether looking good or nor not, definitely adds to the uniqueness of Bajaj Pulsar.

Bajaj Pulsar 200 price

Bajaj Pulsar 200 price: Rs.67,755, Bajaj Pulsar 220 Price, Colors of Bajaj Pulsar 200cc Dtsi,

Bajaj Auto uses advanced technology to make Bajaj Pulsar 200cc Dtsi very comfortable bike to offer an easier handling and control. Its advanced suspension system reduces jerks at rough road and enhances handling and control of the bike. Its large front disk brake and rear disk brakes (only at Bajaj Pulsar 200cc Dtsi 220) stop the vehicle sooner and enhances safety. Its switches are also placed at very convenient place for easy access without distracting your eyes from road. The stance of the bike is just sporty and set it in the sporty bikes segment.

Bajaj Pulsar 220 Review

Bajaj Pulsar 220 Review, Bajaj Pulsar 220 Price, Styling: On the first look of the bike, it looked like a cheetah ready to pounce on me. The head lamp is designed in such a way that it adds a life to the bike. It is nothing short of a face of a robot. Look at the tell tale lights, doesn’t it look like eyes? This is the second bike in India after Karizma which has isolated handle bars (like the real sports bikes). Such bikes position itself as a unique category, a higher status of machines.

The tanks are adopted from the original Pulsar and has a scratch pad near the seat. The tail part is nothing new. It just looks like the other Pulsars and it disappoints me a little bit. Someone looking just the tail wouldn’t be able to differentiate whether it is a Pulsar 220, 200, 180 or 150.

Performance and Handling: The bike has great agility. It has a tendency to ‘jump off’ when you twist the throttle which gives a great adrenaline pump. If you really want to whip the engine to its limits, the Indian city roads will disappoint you.
